Timeless Art

We developed a high-impact, minimalist portfolio website for Hanieh Hassani, a professional calligrapher. The goal was to translate the elegance and depth of her Farsi calligraphy into a structured, gallery-like digital experience, serving as both a professional showcase and an e-commerce gateway.

Client Brief:

The client required a unique, stylish website that functions as a sophisticated online art gallery for her calligraphy artworks. Key objectives included showcasing the artistic process, establishing a strong professional brand, and integrating a seamless ‘Order NOW’ call-to-action for custom commissions. The design needed to be a true extension of her ‘Elegant Letters, Timeless Art’ philosophy.

Project Breakdown:

  • Phase 1: Concept & Brand Alignment: Defined the visual language and structure based on the client’s artistic style.

  • Phase 2: UI/UX Development: Designed the gallery and case study layouts for optimal visual flow.

  • Phase 3: Front-End Implementation: Developed the responsive interface, focusing on performance and visual fidelity.

  • Phase 4: Content Integration: Finalized image assets and copy, including the ‘About Me’ and navigation architecture.

Technology Used:

Adobe Illustrator, Figma (Design & Prototyping), HTML5, CSS3 (Minimalist, Modular Architecture), JavaScript (Interactive Elements).

Challenge

The primary challenge was balancing the rich, intricate detail of the calligraphy with a modern, minimalist web aesthetic. We needed to design a user interface that allows the artwork to breathe while maintaining high visual impact and intuitive navigation, specifically in presenting complex, custom-made art forms in a transactional context.

Solution

Our solution centered on a dark-mode palette to create high contrast, allowing the white/monochromatic art pieces to become immediate focal points. We employed a highly structured, asymmetric layout with controlled typographic hierarchy and integrated subtle background elements derived from the calligraphy itself. This approach ensured a deep visual connection to the art while maintaining a minimalist and professional user experience.
